Our team of physiotherapists have years of experience in treating sports injuries, post surgical clients, motor vehicle accidents, work related injuries, various soft tissue injuries and orthopaedic conditions. We will use a combination of manual therapy techniques, active strengthening and aerobic exercises, electric and ultrasound modalities, acupuncture, spinal traction and radial shockwave. Each program will be geared toward the individual needs of the client.
Received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education (1986) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy (1989) from the University of Western Ontario. Robert has worked in Out Patient Orthopaedic Clinics around Waterloo Region since 1989. There has always been a special interest in sports injuries. He has worked as a sports therapist with a variety of teams at the local, provincial and national levels. Robert has consulted with industry for a number of years on the prevention of overuse injuries in the workplace. He enjoys time together with his wife Armanda and their four children. His hobbies include reading, skiing and playing golf.
Karen brings over 25 years experience of Physiotherapy practice to the MSK Centre.
She graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy and continued her studies obtaining Certification with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada.
During her time as a physiotherapist, Karen has worked in all aspects of Physiotherapy including successfully starting and running her own clinic.
Karen enjoys having an active lifestyle and makes fitness part of her daily routine with Spinning and Body Pump classes. She is also an avid skier, tennis player, and hiker.
Karen lives with her husband and two teenagers in Waterloo.
Joan is a graduate of McMaster University in Hamilton in 1983. She currently works at Cambridge Memorial Hospital as well as at MSK Rehab. She is an assessor for the College of Physiotherapy.
Joan has completed course in acupuncture, manual therapy, vestibular rehabilitation, exercise prescription, and osteoporosis and neurological rehabilitation.
Laurean graduated from McMaster University in 2007 with an Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences degree. She continued at McMaster University and completed a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy in 2009. Since then she has enjoyed working in the orthopaedic setting and she has continued her training by taking numerous post-graduate course including manual therapy and acupuncture.
In her spare time, Laurean enjoys horseback riding, hiking, and reading.
